St. Louis Girls SHS Team for the National Science & Maths Quiz paid a courtesy call to the Head of Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, KNUST
The National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) Team for St. Louis Girls Senior High School paid a courtesy call to Prof. Atinuke O. Adebanji, Head of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, College of Science, KNUST, on the 30th March, 2022. Prof. Adebanji was joined by her colleague staff and Teaching Assistants to welcome the students.
With the NSMQ contest to start in a few months, Prof. Adebanji encouraged the team to stay focused on gaining the trophy. “If you do not dream of holding that trophy at the end of the competition, do not go and sit on that stage”, she said. She also talked about her journey to full professorship in the university to encourage the girls. She added that they trust in God because He is the one who will make them successful.
Dr. Samuel Gyamerah and Dr. Isaac Adjei Mensah also reiterated the fact that they should stay narrow-focused because that is a very important tool in winning. Ruth Linda Agyeman, a SLOPSAN and Principal Administrator of the Department added that they should not be intimated by any external forces.
After several discussions with Prof Adebanji and other members in the Department, one of the girls from the NSMQ team thanked the department for hosting them and giving them these wonderful words of encouragement. “We will always count on you for support"
