Statistics Student Selected for 2026 Millennium Fellowship

HERBERT BOADU AYISI, a BSc. Statistics student at the College of Science, KNUST, has been selected for the 2026 Millennium Fellowship, a globally recognised leadership programme jointly convened by the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) and the Millennium Campus Network (MCN).

Ayisi will also serve as Campus Director for his fellowship cohort, where he will coordinate fellowship activities and support fellow participants in developing projects that advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

His selection comes after a highly competitive application process that attracted more than 76,000 applicants from over 6,000 campuses in 170 countries. Only 330 campuses and more than 5,500 students were selected to participate in the programme.

A student in the College of Science pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistics, Ayisi has distinguished himself as a youth leader and advocate for educational opportunities.

He is the immediate past President of the Ghana Association of Statistics Students KNUST (GASS), and currently serves as President of APOSA KNUST.

Known for his commitment to leadership, education advocacy and sharing opportunities with students and young people, Ayisi has consistently championed initiatives that promote academic and personal development within and beyond the university community.

The Millennium Fellowship equips undergraduate students with leadership training, mentorship and a global network to implement community-driven projects aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

As Campus Director, Ayisi will lead his campus cohort throughout the fellowship while fostering collaboration and measurable social impact.
